My Story

Renata Chede, or @rechede is predominantly a portrait photographer and has been for more than 10 years, but her passion for people has led her to depicting the beauty in domestic scenes and human dynamics.
‘Though much of my work highlights the beauty in nature, I'm inspired by people; their experiences and emotions.’ @renata.chede
Inspired by adventures and working with the hope of encouraging others to travel, she often focuses on landscapes and organic details. Following a six-month sabbatical in 2013, during which she visited 30 countries across four continents and documented her journey on an old digital camera, and subsequent month-long trips with a 35mm film camera, she has transformed her experiences into images which now hang in spaces around the world.
She's currently based in Amsterdam with her partner and daughter, working on new projects in the city and on shorter trips.
Before embarking on her photography career, which she'd acquired an interest in as a child, following in her father's footsteps and helping to document family life, including the birth of her four younger siblings, she studied at the International Center of Photography in New York City, undertook a degree in graphic design and worked as an art director.
From 2011 to 2012, she shot for more than 20 publications, including Vogue Brasil, Harper's Bazaar, French Elle Decor, Playboy, Runner's World and Dutch Residence.
Of excellent quality, with the preservation, fidelity and permanence of the colours guaranteed for up to 200 years, her photographs are Giclée printed with 12 colour archival pigments on Hahnemühle fine art paper in a limited edition of 25 pieces, with or without a frame.
